The E1 Racebird is an RTR (Ready-to-Run) model with all components included and pre-assembled, making it accessible to newcomers. However, hydrofoil boats require calm water conditions and practice to master the foiling technique, so some patience and open water space are recommended.
The boat includes a 7.4V 900mAh Li-ion 2S battery pack and a USB balance charger. For exact charge times, consult the manual, but USB chargers typically take 1–2 hours for a battery of this capacity.
The package includes the assembled hull, 2.4GHz transmitter, receiver, motor with gearbox, servo, battery, charger, propeller, boat stand, and four AA batteries for the transmitter. You'll only need to charge the battery before your first run; everything else is ready to use.
At 1:14 scale, the boat measures 545mm long, 238mm wide, and 148mm high—roughly the size of a large shoe box. You'll need open water like a pond, lake, or canal with calm conditions to properly use the hydrofoil technology; a small garden pond may be too confined.
The E1 Racebird reaches a top speed of 25 km/h and features innovative hydrofoil technology that lifts the hull out of the water as it accelerates, just like the full-size UIM E1 World Championship raceboats. This creates a more realistic racing experience and reduces water drag for improved performance.
