The Joysway E1 Racebird is RTR (ready to run), meaning it arrives fully assembled and ready to use with no building required, making it accessible to beginners. However, operating a hydrofoil boat requires some water handling skill as foiling behaviour differs from standard boats—you may want some basic RC boating experience.
The boat includes a 7.4V 900mAh Li-ion 2S battery pack and a USB balance charger. For exact charge times, consult the manual, but typical charge times for this capacity are usually 1–2 hours depending on charger output.
The box includes the assembled hull, transmitter, receiver, motor, ESC, servo, battery, charger, propeller, boat stand, and four AA batteries for the transmitter. Everything needed to launch immediately is included; you only need access to water.
The boat measures 545mm long, 238mm wide, and 148mm high, making it compact enough for most bodies of water such as ponds, lakes, or calm pools. The 2.4GHz transmitter has a 200m range, though you should operate within safe sight lines.
This is the first foiling electric RC boat—it features innovative hydrofoil technology that lifts the hull out of the water at speed, behaving exactly like the full-size UIM E1 Championship raceboat. It reaches a top speed of 25 km/h and is highly manoeuvrable with gliding capability.
