Best LiPo Batteries for RC Cars UK 2026 — 2S, 3S & 4S Packs

Four RC LiPo batteries: Gens Ace Bashing 2S 5000, Voltz 3S 5000, Performa P1 Graphene and Voltz 4S

The best value LiPo for most RC cars is the Gens Ace Bashing 2S 5000mAh: twice the capacity of a typical pack for about £22. If your car takes 3S, the Voltz 3S 5000mAh XT60 is the standard size, and for racing the Performa P1 Graphene shorty is the one. Always match the voltage to your car and the plug to your speed controller.

A second battery is the best upgrade you can make to any RC car. The eight packs below are ordered by price. For the difference between LiPo and NiMH, read our LiPo vs NiMH guide, and before charging anything, how to charge LiPo batteries safely.

What to check before buying

Voltage first. Fitting a 3S pack to a 2S car can destroy the speed controller. Check the car’s manual or listing.

Physical size. Measure your battery tray. A pack that does not fit is no use, however good it is.

The connector. Buy the plug your car uses, or fit the matching connector to the pack. Never force mismatched plugs.

A proper charger. LiPos need a balance charger. Our best RC battery chargers guide compares them.

Frequently asked questions

What LiPo battery do I need for my RC car?
One with the same number of cells your car is rated for (2S, 3S or 4S), a plug that matches your speed controller and a size that fits the battery tray. Capacity and C rating then decide run time and punch.
Is a higher mAh battery better?
It runs for longer, but it is usually bigger and heavier. Choose the largest capacity that fits your car without making it too heavy.
What does the C rating mean on a LiPo?
It describes how quickly the pack can safely deliver its power. Brushless cars and racers benefit from higher C ratings.
Can I use a 3S battery in a 2S car?
Only if the car and its speed controller are rated for 3S. Otherwise the extra voltage can damage the electronics.
