DF65V8 New Version Changes Details
The DF International Class Association (DFICA) and the licenced builder, Joysway Hobby International Ltd, are pleased to announce the release of new versions of both DF65 and DF95 classes.
The changes to apply from 1st February 2025, are the result of feedback from DFICA members and in consultation with the Joysway engineering team to continue to improve the quality and reliability of the boats.
The fundamental aim of the Class and its Rules is to ensure that all boats are raced on a level performance basis. The Restricted Class Rules means that no changes are allowed to the boats unless specifically allowed and documented in the Rules, or an interpretation has been issued by the DFICA Rules Committee to cover any manufacturing changes.
The changes will not affect performance of the boats but do improve the build quality for greater enjoyment by owners.

NOTE:All new parts will be available to retro fit on previous versions.
1) Digital Winch – A new digital winch will replace the current grey DF Sail winch. Testing has shown a more consistent performance and end point accuracy.
The new winch fits the existing DF winch drums and the winch speed is the same as the outgoing model.

This is a competitive racing-class boat (DF65V8) designed for experienced RC sailors. It's not recommended as a first RC sailboat; you should have prior experience with RC sailing before operating this model.
You'll need 8 AA alkaline batteries total: 4 for the transmitter and 4 for the receiver. Batteries are not included in the box, so you'll need to purchase them separately.
The boat arrives PNP (Plug and Play) with a fully painted ABS hull, carbon-fibre mast and boom, racing sails with mylar film, metal geared digital rudder servo, new digital sail-winch servo, aluminium keel with ballast, and a display stand. You just need to add the AA batteries to get sailing.
The boat is 650mm long with a rig height of 915mm and overall height of 1338mm. The box dimensions are 91.2 x 30.4 x 11.6 cm, so it should fit in most standard RC transport bags, though you may want to measure yours to be certain.
The DF65V8 features 2226cm² of sail area split between mainsail and jib, a new digital sail-winch servo for precise sail control, a lightweight design at 1200g, and an aluminium keel with ballast for stability—all built to DF International Class racing standards for level performance.
