Historical Background:
The M1A2 Abrams is an upgraded version of the M1 Abrams, the main battle tank of the United States Army since the 1980s. It gained worldwide recognition during the Gulf War (1991), where it proved its superiority in the harsh deserts of Iraq and Kuwait. With its 120mm smoothbore gun, advanced composite armour, and state-of-the-art targeting systems, the M1A2 outclassed Soviet-era tanks, ensuring American and coalition forces’ dominance during Operation Desert Storm. The Abrams has since remained at the forefront of modern armoured warfare, seeing action in Iraq, Afghanistan, and beyond.
