HPI Baja 5B: build the original large-scale buggy
The Baja 5B is the car that brought 1/5 scale to ordinary RC drivers, and HPI has brought it back as a pair of Self Build Kits. Each kit builds into a buggy over 80cm long with the heavy-duty drivetrain, viscous differentials, alloy shocks and roll cage the Baja is known for.
The Baja 5B Gas SBK is supplied without an engine, so you can fit the petrol engine and pipe of your choice. The Baja 5B Flux SBK is the brushless version, rated for up to 8S LiPo and capable of speeds beyond 50mph. Neither kit includes radio gear, so budget for a transmitter, receiver, steering servo and, for the Gas kit, a throttle servo and engine.
